Congratulations to the U17B Almaden Newcastle United-Class 1 Team!
First Place Finish Fall 2009 Season

The Class 1 team finished with 7 Wins – 1 Loss – 2 Draws. 23pts.
They also had the most goals for with 35, and the least amount of goals conceded with 10.

Stealth U13 Boys Champions at Almaden Halloween Classic

Winners at the Hayward Holloween Tournament

The boys finished 2nd and the girls finished 3rd  – each team winning 3 out of 4 games.
Both teams are trained and coached by Joe Escobedo. 

Good Job Almaden Xtreme U14 Girls for Taking 2nd
At Class 3 Fall District 2 Cup 2009

 The Almaden Xtreme GU14 recorded 2 wins and 1 tie in pool play to qualify for the championship match. The finals did not disappoint. After regulation play and 2 overtime periods the match was unresolved at 1-1, forcing a penalty kick shootout that went to extra kicks.

 

Congratulations to the BU14 Almaden Strikers

For taking 1st place in the Fair Oak Festival 8/15-16/09!

The Strikers went undefeated with 14 goals for and 0 against. 
The team had only 1 substitute and played in the scorching Central Valley heat. 
What a way to start the season!  GOOOO STRIKERS!

Congratulations Almaden Mercury Green 97 Boys U12

The Almaden Mercury Green 97 Boys U12 team went 2-0-1 in pool play, giving up just one goal in 3 games sending them to the championship game.  There, they played a tough game, but came up short in a 1-0 loss.

Congratulations to the GU16 Flames
For winning 2nd place in the Summer '09 Napa Valley Wine Country Classic.

The Almaden Flames Girls U16 team went 3-0 in pool play, shutting out all 3 teams and scored the highest point total of all the teams in the Girls U16 group. They also played well in the championship game but ended up with a tough 1-0 loss. This Almaden Flames Girls U16 team was a recent merger of the existing Almaden Flames and the old Almaden Ice U15 team and have been playing together for just 8 weeks.

Congratulations Almaden Rebels for winning '09 Spring District Cup Gu17 - Class 3!

The Almaden Rebels won the u-17 Class 3 girls division of the Spring District Cup defeating a PV (Pajaro Valley) United team 2-0 in the finals. The PV United team was undefeated in league play and had allowed only 2 goals the whole season.
The Rebels are comprised of 8 Leland girls, 6 Pioneer girls, 2 Branham girls, 1 Presentation and 1 Willow Glen.

Almaden Quicksilver Girls U15 Advances to District 2 Cup Championship

Almaden Quicksilver earned two victories in pool play to finish at the top of their bracket in the U15 Class 3 Gold Division. Quicksilver finished in 2nd Place after a 1-0 loss to SASC United in the championship. Quicksilver was the only AVYSL team in U14-U19 to advance to a District Cup championship game.

Earlier in the season, Quicksilver U15 team won the U16 championship at the Vacaville United Shootout. Most of the 12 teams competing were a year older than the Quicksilver team, yet Quicksilver emerged as the only team winning all their games over the weekend.
