Every AVYSL Program has different types of requirements for coaching as outlined below:
AVYSL Recreational Program Coaches - Coaches for our Spring and Fall recreational programs are selected by the programs’ Directors. Recreational coaches do not need to complete the League’s coaching application. Please see appropriate page of the website for complete information. Click here for a link to the Spring Microsoccer Program page. Click here for a link to the Fall Rec. Program Coach’s page.
AVYSL Comp/Select Tiered Program Coaches - All coaches for the tiered program are selected by and report to the Director of Coaching. AVYSL requires that all Comp and Select (Class 1 and Class 3) coaches must be licensed in accordance with the CYSA coaching license policy and follow the league guidelines for submitting a coach application.
AVYSL Comp/Select Grandfathered Program Coaches - Grandfathered competitive program coaches are AYVSL Board approved and report to the directors of Class 1 or Class 3 respectively. AVYSL requires that all Comp and Select (Division 3 and Division 1) coaches must be licensed in accordance with the CYSA coaching license policy and follow the league guidelines for submitting a coach application.
The CYSA coaching license policy can be found here.
AVYSL coaches and assistant coaches must have attended a Positive Coaching Alliance Coaches workshop. Check the AVYSL PCA pages at http://www.almadensoccer.org/pca/index_E.html to find when the next workshop will be offered.
